Magnet Program
Magnet Programs
The Broward County Public School district is a nationally recognized leader in the quality and diversity of education we offer students. Magnet programs offer educational choices in Broward County Public Schools. While similar courses and programs may be available in comprehensive schools, Magnet programs attract students by offering unique opportunities for in-depth experiences and study in specific areas of interest. Each Magnet program emphasizes a specialized theme. Our goal is to create educational interests, celebrate cultural and ethnic diversity, and foster student achievement.

Montessori Magnet
Program Offers
As a Montessori Magnet, VSY blends academic rigor with whole child development, offering a peaceful, inclusive learning environment where every child is valued. Students engage with the core curriculum and Florida BEST standards through Montessori materials and principles, thoughtfully integrated with district resources. Our structured, prepared classrooms are organized into distinct curriculum areas—math, language arts, science, social studies, practical life, and sensorial development—each designed to foster independence, concentration, coordination, and a sense of order. Multi-age classrooms create dynamic learning communities where older students mentor younger peers, and all learners benefit from continuity, collaboration, and personalized instruction. This approach nurtures leadership, empathy, and executive functioning skills while honoring each child’s unique developmental journey.
